Dead of Darkness 2 is not playable yet
Steam app 3947120 has no buy button yet. The date lines below do not agree, and none of them gives a day or a month.
What the release lines actually say
Steam lists Dead of Darkness 2 as coming soon with the planned date To be announced, the official press kit also says TBA, and eastasiasoft's fact sheet says 2027 with no month or day.
A player can tell that no exact release day is published.
| Source | Wording | What it does not say |
|---|---|---|
| Steam store and appdetails | Coming soon. Planned date: To be announced. | No year, month, or day. |
| Official press kit on deadofdarkness2.com | Release Date: TBA. Price: TBA. | No store price and no calendar date. |
| eastasiasoft fact sheet | Release: 2027. | No month or day. This is not the Steam date field. |
Gematsu dated its announcement 7 October 2026 and did not add a release day. Treat 2027 as the console publisher's year line, not as a Steam unlock date.
What to do instead of looking for a price
The Steam page has no packages yet, so the useful action is to wishlist app 3947120 on Steam or open the GOG page, not to look for a buy button.
appdetails reports is_free: false and an empty package_groups array. That means the app is not marked free and it is not on sale. Wishlist on Steam, or open the GOG page. The Games Press excerpt also mentions a PlayStation Store wishlist; this guide did not open a PlayStation URL, so it does not invent one.
The opening, in one pass
Jun Takehara finds an unnamed wounded girl on a 1985 hunting trip, and two policemen pull her and Felton toward Goldren Creek.
Jun and Felton are named. The girl is not. The longer split of what is known and what is only a headcount lives on the story page.
Systems that are announced, not numbered
Some sections let you switch among up to three characters and move items through a shared item box; damage numbers are not published.
The systems page lists the weapon families and stops where the numbers stop.
The PC minimum, including the storage split
Steam's minimum is Windows 10 64-bit, 4 GB RAM, and 2 GB of storage, while GOG lists the same PC minimum with 3 GB of storage.
Use the PC specs page to compare a machine with 4 GB, 2 GB, and 3 GB. The result is a comparison, not a promise that the game will run.
PC publisher and console publisher are not the same line
Retrofiction Games publishes the PC version, eastasiasoft is named for the console versions, and full audio is not listed the same way on every store page.
The platforms page keeps the Steam language table, the API full-audio asterisk, and the eastasiasoft Chinese subtitle line apart. Steam's content note says frequent violence or gore. The same payload lists DEJUS 16 and the German rating 18, while required_age is 0.
